REIKI
Reiki is the Japanese word for
UNIVERSAL LIFE FORCE ENERGY.
Reiki is an original method of
healing originating in the 20th. Century by Dr. Mikao Usui.
Practitioners of Reiki have to be initiated into the healing process by Master
Teachers. Contrary to belief it cannot be learnt from a book or the
internet. The symbols gifted and entrusted to practitioners are sacred and
should be treated as such.
The practitioner acts as a channel for the energy to be passed from their hands
to the client, with no touching or pressure. The sacred
symbols are used to penetrate healing further.
Reiki can be used to alleviate stress, relax, speed up physical healing times,
reduce pain and so much more.
Reiki sessions last for approximately one hour
History of Reiki
Reiki has been around for thousands of years. It was rediscovered in the 19th century by a Japanese scholar called Mikao Usui. During a lesson one of his students asked if he believed in the Bible and how Christ had managed to heal the sick. Dr Usui could not answer the student and it played on his mind for days so he decided to leave the university and go to see if he could find the answer.
He studied Buddhist teachings and ancient Sanskrit. After seven years he found the wisdom and answers he had sought. A Tibetan scroll in the Himalayas gave the formula for how Buddha and Christ had healed. He had found the knowledge, but did not have the healing power. He retreated to the sacred mountain Kuri Yama to fast and meditate, after 21 days a light came from the sky and struck him in the middle of his forehead. (Third eye Chakra) He saw bubbles of white light each carrying a golden symbol the Sacred Healing Symbols. In his hurry to get down from the mountain and tell the people, he stubbed his toe, injuring it quite badly, as he put his hand to the injured foot he was amazed to see the bleeding stop and the foot healed…
Reiki had begun…and was about to spread it’s healing energy around the world for years to come.
